Hi,
I think this paragraph doesn’t clarify it enough. And actually this paragraph can be applied to both TW and Leap, expect the part “high stability, long period looping release”.
In my opinion, a list of characteristics would be more effective.
openSUSE distributions (Leap, Tumbleweed) - Multi purpose: server, desktop workstation, IOT... - System recovery: integrated BTRFS snapshots as default. - Security updates: from the community and from SUSE - Customizable: set it up for your needs even from installation, for example gnome, KDE, Enlightenment... - Contributing: available tools for everyone to build and package software. Adding and fixing software in the official repositories.
Leap - Conservative package version: the software behaves always the same until you decide to upgrade. - Limited lifetime: after end of life, upgrade Leap to continue receiving free security updates - Enterprise ready: migrate to SLE the get support from SUSE and to get more security updates without upgrading.
Tumbleweed - Latest package version: latest stable and tested version of software. Get KDE and gnome just hours or days after they are released upstream. - No end of life: Receive security updates forever.
Kubic - Tumbleweed flavor: the same benefits as Tumbleweed. - Focused on Linux container - Transactional updates - Auto healing
What do you think?
Yes, I think this is far more usefull and instructive. Good suggestion, IMHO, Sergio. -- -Gerry Makaro openSUSE Member openSUSE Forum Moderator openSUSE Contributor aka Fraser_Bell on the Forums, OBS, IRC, and mail at openSUSE.org Fraser-Bell on Github -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-web+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-web+owner@opensuse.org
