On the forum was a discussion (deleted now) about the Flags on www.o.o. If you select Chinese language you will get a flag of the Republic of China and it seems that people from the People's Republic of China are offended (i hope i didn't mixed this up ... ).
The currently used flag is taiwan IIRC since the chinese translation is traditional chinese spoken in taiwan. There is no simplified chinese translation online yet, which would feature the chinese flag. Kane already sent my a traditional chinese translation. Unfortunally, I had no time to update the website yet. I try to merge the translation this weekend.
I guess a combined flag will not help, so why not just delete the flag until somebody have a better idea?
Whe had a long discussion last summer in IRC channel about the mixup of languages and countries. We had no better idea since without a flag, nobody would understand that this is the language selector because he simply cannot read it. The flag is less then ideal, I agree. But IMHO it is the best compromise available. And best practice, too... ;-) Greets, Andreas -- Skype: andreas.demmer ICQ: 103 924 771 http://www.andreas-demmer.de
