Yes they are nice. But on server I never install X and all other
services which I don't need. I think we have to ask SuSe to make a yast1
replacement

I don't know about 8, but with 7.3 you can use YaST2 from a CLI, too!
You could do that in 7.1. But YaST2 doesn't work well on low-end machines, because it's so big. I had to increase my swap to 128M to get it to work on my firewall, which was a major PITA.
