ist ein suse linux (6.2) system direkt nach dem booten von der größe aller zusammen gezählten dateien oder deren anzahl immer gleich ? problem: ich möchte einfach überwachen, ob sich an meinem system nichts geändert hat (hacker) ohne progs einzusetzen (tripwire...) deshalb möchte ich nach dem booten einfach alle meine dateien zählen lassen und wenn sie gleich groß und viel sind als am tag zuvor habe ich einigermassen die gewissheit das alles ok ist.
I can't tell you whether a SuSE system always has the same size measured in Bytes or number of files at start-up. But I think a check of these two numbers is a very weak security check. Because if I want to change a programme without showing it directly, I would change it internally without changing the size of the file or the number of files. It's no problem to add some bytes at the end of a file to make it have the same size as before even if it does something totally different that the original. You should reconsider this approach and use one of the many programms available for checking Checksums at least.
