Hi,
a) which programs do you recommend for POP3 and IMAP which are capable to do TLS/SSL? I looked at Qualcom's popper, but 3.1 doesn't have it and 4 is to expensive ($300/CPU) and Cyrus IMAP server doesn't seem to support it. I saw that http://www.washington.edu/imap/ has a imap server which seems to support it. Has anyone any experience with it?
Yes, I am using it at my site. It's SSL performance is quite ok, even though it has problems due to an forgotten point to be fixed in the next version: It only loads the server certificate and not the CA certificate so that it will not present a complete certificate chain. Please find attached an email I wrote on openssl-users. Best regards, Lutz
PS: We have still a pop2 server running, is there any program which still requires (or support) it? (If not, we will close a port.) Forget pop2, it is dead and gone. -- Lutz Jaenicke Lutz.Jaenicke@aet.TU-Cottbus.DE BTU Cottbus http://www.aet.TU-Cottbus.DE/personen/jaenicke/ Lehrstuhl Allgemeine Elektrotechnik Tel. +49 355 69-4129 Universitaetsplatz 3-4, D-03044 Cottbus Fax. +49 355 69-4153
