Two questions to Tumbleweed:
1) I enabled Tumbleweed, gave it higher priority than other repos and did zypper dup. Many packages changed their vendors. Is it right to raise priority?
2) Tumbleweed now has a higher priority than Updates. Now I'm having trouble: Update notifier always shows pending updates (ethtool, yast2). Do I have to give updates a higher priority than Tumbleweed?
I really would like to follow Tumbleweed. How do you set priorities?
Thanks for help.
I've been using it with apparent success. I've done exactly as it shows at: http://en.opensuse.org/Tumbleweed#How_to_try_Tumbleweed_.3F Nothing more, nothing less. Notice, you (yast online update) pulls only from the updates repo. If I want to get the latest tumbleweed, I manually do "zypper dup --from Tumbleweed" This exposes a current hole in the security updates with the current process. ie. Once I update a package to Tumbleweed, I get no notification of future security updates. Greg KH, is there a conceptual plan / goal for that? Or is a Tumbleweed user just expected to do zypper dup every now and then?
