Hi all!
I'm running a Suse PPC Linux Server on a G3 Server Machine.
Since RAM is cheap, I though on Upgrading the 256 MB Memory to 1 GB. So I bought 3 256 MB DIMM Blocks and stick them into the Server.
To my first surprise not all RAM was discovered or shown with "free".
Any suggestions? Trick?
You should install a 2.4 kernel. It has highmem enabled and it should allow you to use more than 512mb.
Gruss Olaf
Hi Olaf, Thanks for your response. One more Question then: Can i change the kernel to 2.4 without the need to Upgrade the OS? Actually Suse PPC 7.0. Which Kernel is the best for my G3 Server Machine?
