Indeed, but I wouldn't call a patch tag *code*. Look at it as a glossary or the entry in a dictionary where the patch tag is the keyword and the comments are the explanation.

Then the prefix "Px" would not be needed:

Whether or not a Px prefix is used is independent from the question where the commets are placed relative to the patch tag. I suggested them to avoid confusion between regular comments and these special comments, and to reduce the risk of messing up the comments when moving around blocks.

Or to put it a different way: When the Px prefix is there, it doesn't really matter where the comments are placed, so it can be left up to the individual packager to decide what works better for him.
