Well, if someone wants to volunteer to do weekly reminders one hour before then go for it. For me, its not going to be easy as I will be in three different timezones over the next three weeks. That means I would have to remember to send out a reminder at 8 a.m. this week, at 7 a.m. next week and at 6 a.m. the week after. Besides. This is a fixed schedule. The time and day of the week will not change. So, why not just set your alarms in your schedulers to remind you at your best convenient times? And again, I remind you this is not formal meetings. These are check-ins as in people can come walk in at anytime during that hour and just bring up anything about the status of their current work for 12.1.
