updating XFree86 in my SuSE 8.0 (it has all updates) from ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/supplementary/X/XFree86/XFree86-4.2.0-SuSE/suse80 screwed up something im my locale and font settings:
I get the following error messages when starting gvim:
Gdk-WARNING **: locale not supported by Xlib, locale set to C
Apparently you are using an locale which isn't supported by XFree86.
Check the output of the "locale" command and read
