Does the network configuration module work well when started alone from menu?
Hmmm. Had kdenetwork3, but not networkmanager-kde3 installed. Needed? Added that, no difference. Added kdenetwork3-IRC, Instant Messenger, lan, lisa, news, query and vnc. No difference. Running System > Configuration > Desktop Applet > KnetworkManager produces nothing. The "Settings" entry on Kmenu (between Run Command and My Computer) does not have any entries for NetworkManager. "kcmshell knetworkmanager" in Konsole has no errors on commandline, brings up a window: "The module KNetworkManager is not a valid configuration module ... The diagnostic is: The desktop file /opt/kde3/share/applications/kde/networkmanager.desktop does not specify a library". After this, clicking on Personal Settings > Network Settings brings up, for (Configure) Network Connections, an almost blank panel with the following output still: " "The specified library knetworkconfmodule could not be found ...The diagnostic is: Library files for "kcm_knetworkconfmodule.la" not found in paths." I have been unable to find a provider for kcm_knetworkconfmodule.la. BTW, clicking on Personal Settings > Advanced > Audio Encoding gives similar output, e.g., "The specified library audiocd could not be found ...The diagnostic is: Library files for "kcm_audiocd.la" not found in paths." Again, I can't find a provider. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+help@opensuse.org
