I think if this option doesn't exist, kde won't be usable on an ARM device.
As you see it's all there. :)
And if I'm not wrong smartphones use ARM and they do use full indexing, i.e. semantic search etc. as nepomuk tries to. Sothe concept of nepomuk is used on ARM and in fact is promoted as a feature.
And Nepomuk as of KDE 4.7 no longer loads down your CPU/system like it used to (I tested it on low end Atom CPUs and noticed essentially zero perfomance impact with it running)... so disabling it actually kills off some core features/functionality of KDE4.
C.
Don't say it doesn't impact ... It depend of how much data you index, (normally you would like to have all your data right?) imap account you have, and how much data (in the indexing range) is moving (new, delete, modify) etc ... -- Bruno Friedmann Ioda-Net Sàrl www.ioda-net.ch openSUSE Member & Ambassador GPG KEY : D5C9B751C4653227 irc: tigerfoot -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org
