There doesn't seem to be anything useful in the logs. I suggest you try updating your packages again (maybe there was a temporary problem or inconsistency). Also trying a failsafe session and running manually 'startkde' from there might provide some info.
I updated my packages and tried startkde from and xterm in icewm. The screen blinked with the post-login (I'm not sure what to call it...) screen and then went back to icewm. Console output says startkde: Starting up... startkde: Shutting down... startkde: Running shutdown scripts... startkde: done Could it be a dbus problem or something? I can't run KDE programs (like kmail or kopete) from within icewm either...
