So it is included in $PATH - but I have to include it in PATH -right?
wrong. PATH is an environment variable which is addressed using the symbol '$'. Escaping, if you will. ie: echo PATH will do exactly that, it will echo, 'PATH' echo $PATH will echo the environment variable 'PATH' A short amount of time perusing the fine 'User Guide' or 'Start-Up' provided with your distro, especially the section about the command line or bash or Basics, would help you immensely. Two other excellent guides are the RUTE manual and the abs-guide (Advanced Bash Scripting Guide). They are freely available. Search for them on google. -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # US1244711 Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2
