Hi David, It's a free list. dump whoever you want to /dev/null, including me, but AFAICS Patrick has done nothing in this thread to deserve it. I wouldn't dream of posting the OP's original question here without identifying myself as a SuSE user first. And I'd apologize profusely if I did. Think about it: A different distribution (a competitor's?) An older version of KDE? No indication he'd tried Google or other research first? Come to think of it, he's at a business... where's the systems administrator? Where is desktop support? That system didn't get installed and configured by itself, did it? Or does this company plant a box at someone's desk, throw in an old CD and leave it's endusers searching the Internet for help? (Some employers are really *like* that, ya know?) All I'm saying is this: Had he prefaced his question with "Hi Everybody, I know this isn't a black hat list and the KDE version is pretty old, but I run SuSE X.X at home and I've got a problem here at work..." it would have defused any criticisms or latent sarcasm from the start. The people here, including Patrick, are... um... people. Accordingly, we express ourselves as human beings, particularly when someone does something a little bit clueless and irritating. Shouldn't the OP take some responsibility for anticipating this? I know I would have... I also would never publicly dump on someone like Patrick as harshly as you just did. No one participating here, much less he, deserves that kind of treatment. - Carl
