Hi,
Hi Graham,
I don't know where the new locale files are. It appears SuSE did not produce any with the initial release. If any body knows where they can be downloaded from I would be interested.
Daniels link ("I don't know why there are no i18n rpms there, but I think, the ones in ftp://ftp.kde.org/pub/kde/stable/latest/SuSE/noarch/ should do the trick.") seem to work. Konqueror now tells me "bitBlt: Cannot bitBlt to device and mcop waring: user defined sigal handler found for SIG_PIPE, overriding" instead of found no Pluralform for whatsoever.
Regarding the crashes you are having, have you tried running the command from the command line in an xterm. You generally get reasonable error messages which indicate where the problem is.
Yeah, that was where I got the PluralForm from.
Also after you did the update did you remove the /tmp/kde-<username> /tmp/ksocket-<username> /tmp/mcop-<username> ~/.mcop ( for each user) directories before restarting kde. If not I suggest you exit kde and remove them, they will be recreated again on restart of kde. They can cause a number of problems and crashes if they are not updated.
Thanks for this, i removed them but i'm running a konstruct-build for my kde right now and i'm scared to kill/restart the X Server at this moment. I'll see after konstruct has finished. thanks and bye Jochen
There is another problem with konqueror which can cause it to crash when run as root (Super User). The only way I have found to resolve the problem is to turn off the preview of "files", which is by default turned on. Settings ---> Configure Konqueror --> Previews -->file (disable) or via the Control Centre when logged in as root. KDE Components ---> File Manager ---> Previews ---> file
