Feature #308481, revision 1
Title: Automatically de-select UTC when installing in a virtual machine

openSUSE-11.3: Unconfirmed
Priority
Requester: Desirable

Requested by: Bernhard Walle (bwalle)

Description:
The emulated hardware clock in virtual machines (VirtualBox, VMWare, QEmu/KVM
...) runs at local time in most cases. At least for VirtualBox it's not
configurable.

When installing openSUSE in VirtualBox, the check button "run system clock at
UTC" is automatically checked. Since in most cases I can imagine that's wrong
-- why not detect the installation inside a VM (with dmidecode string) and
automatically not check that button?
