: Hi,
I know, leap 42.3 is not out yet but I suspect there are some who have already tried installing the amdgpu-pro driver.
Any success so far with the amdgpu-pro install script or even with only the --compute parameter?
You must to patch the driver: https://community.amd.com/thread/212558
Too much patch work. I think it should at least work in Leap without any user patches which might bring down the machine I depend on with the next update.
You can find here the latest patch for the driver 17.10:
https://community.amd.com/servlet/JiveServlet/download/2795893-72963/patch_1...
But the old Catalyst 14 in opensuse Leap 42.1, has better perfomance than the latest 17.10 amdgpu-pro.
Try first installing Mesa, and mantain the open souce amdgpu driver: https://software.opensuse.org/download.html?project=X11:XOrg&package=Mesa
I've read the phoronics article, but I need openCL. Thanks Peter -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
