Everything there is too tiny for me to tell much. Is that Gnome? Does the corruption still happen if you try a different session type, TWM or IceWM or KDE?
It's KDE. I haven't tried a different session type. The reason why the
fonts look so tiny is, that they _seem_ to be "shrunk". But they aren't.
They are just... well, unreadable.
