Hi Basil,
Pardon me if I'm missing something obvious here but why would you use M0 then? Download current 13.1 release and have a look?

naturally I am not sympathetic to the inability to do a *Net install* :-) .
What happens if you load the initrd and linux from the repos or net iso using Grub? That's how I start most installations here.
I really would not know what would happen as I wouldn't even attempt to do this - principally because I haven't a clue what you are talking about :-) .

But, secondly, why should I try and do this.
Same reason you would "do a *Net install*" by burning a current openSUSE-Factory-NET...iso and booting it, but also to see whether the obstacle has its root in the installation kernel and/or initrd and/or the media or iso you've been attempting to use. Installing this way you download nothing you won't be installing or needing in order to be able to install.
OK, I see the direction you want me to take but..... I do NOT want to *install*. I just want to see what KDE *LIVE* looks like.
Or am I missing something?

You must be a new comer to this list because top-posting is very much frowned upon in the openSUSE lists. Keep doing this and you will suffer the wrath of Patrick The Terrible! Your worse nightmare is nought when compared to Patrick The Terrible! You have been warned! Now, to carry on.... "Pardon me if I'm missing something obvious here but why would you use M0 then? Download current 13.1 release and have a look?" The "obvious" which you are missing is that I have been running 13.1 since it was released, and that if a Milestone is released I like to see what it may look like. The obvious question then comes up: why are Milestones produced at great HR and computer resource expense and then made available for download? I know, I know - Stephan Kulow just likes to see his name in lights, right? :-) Have I answered your question? BC -- A civilisation is judged by how it treats the most vulnerable.
