Yes I can ;) https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=853868 I have also a question. On this Board it is not possible to install 12.3 ( ASUS P9D WS "Hardware to new") and also not 13.1. You can build a small live CD on studio (or OBS if you're expect enough) including the updates from Kernel:HEAD to see if it works. Greetings, Stephan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

I don't know why I assumed it was an ARM related bug. Since it is not, using susestudio to do this is fairly straightforward. My Internet connection is running really slowly today, so the below is from memory. ================ Log into https://susestudio.com/ via an existing account, or create a new one. Be warned that if you login via a gmail account today and facebook tomorrow, they are 2 different unrelated accounts, so make note of how you are logging in. As soon as you login click "Create New Appliance" Pick a base template that works for you. If you are just looking to boot, the OS 13.1 JeOS choice might be best, but it is text only for interaction. Go to the software tab and add the "Kernel:HEAD" repository. If it is not already in the list of repos imported into susestudio, click import repository from the add repo page. Go back to the software tab and scroll down to the package list. Make sure the kernel packages are coming from Kernel:HEAD. Click on the build tab: - select the build format you want (CD/DVD iso I assume) - click build - wait 10 or 20 minutes, click download You should have a CD/DVD iso image you can burn to media and boot. This is not working, i can test a Net-install and include /update and kernel/HEAD But I don't know the correct Problem from dracut or mkinitrd? YaST2 can't create in first Stage the initrd and end with errors

I really would not know what would happen as I wouldn't even attempt to do this - principally because I haven't a clue what you are talking about :-) . But, secondly, why should I try and do this. I don't expect to have to jump thru hoops to be able to have the 808MB blob of 0s and 1s simply boot into LIVE mode and nothing else :-) . It won't boot into LIVE mode on an AMD system nor on an Intel system with 'safe mode' and any other "mode" you can think of :-) . OK, I know that this is MIlestone 0 but really.......... Ok sorry about that (again), the reply gave me a different impression.
The obvious question then comes up: why are Milestones produced at great HR and computer resource expense and then made available for download?
Funny, because it isn't even 'available' for download. At least it isn't to the people unfamiliar with the download servers folder tree structure. If I'm not reading the lists, I wouldn't even know milestone exists.
From the download landing page none are available, and it even tells you so. It's 'very helpful' when I make erroneous statements when suggesting something:)

If a milestone has been released, there will have been a release announcement. Have you seen a public announcement for a 13.2M0 release anywhere? According to http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Roadmap even a schedule for 13.2 hasn't been announced yet. With the divergence from usual routine for 13.2 development compared to prior releases, I wouldn't expect either typical pre-release schedule conformity or typical build quality prior to beta.

If you're referring to what you find at http://download.opensuse.org/factory/iso/ what you're seeing there now looks like a result of B.S. automation, not "great HR and computer resource expense". When milestones are released they usually have a timestamp rather close to what you see at http://download.opensuse.org/factory-snapshot/repo/, which currently is dated prior to 13.1 release.

You're seeing what you wish it to mean, not what it does mean. Niederwimmer isn't announcing a release of 13.2 Milestone 0. Stephan isn't calling anything Milestone 0. All Stephan was doing was pointing Niederwimmer to what is available that most closely matches what Niederwimmer appears to want. Milestone 0 is what Factory announces itself as after it gets unfrozen after an upcoming GA release has branched. It stays that way for many weeks or even months, until a Milestone 0 is announced. Shortly after announcement it will be calling itself Milestone 1 for the weeks until a Milestone 1 is announced. What it calls itself doesn't necessarily mean a Milestone has been reached or announced. Factory has to be called something other than latest, in this case, not 13.1 without a non-GA qualifier. http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Roadmap will almost certainly have a date for Milestone 0 of 13.2 before same gets announced as a release, which will be made and available from http://download.opensuse.org/factory-snapshot/ when its time comes, likely not for another month or more, sometime after Roadmap is updated for 13.2. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." Unless there is a hidden and encrypted message in the above then by my reading Milestone 0 is where Stephan wrote it is.

Actually, I have also understood it as such. Niederwimmer asked for Milestone 0 and got the link in return without making a distinction.

Nowhere at the URL Stephan provided is the string "ilestone" to be found. And if you check it often enough, you'll see its content changes with some frequency. Announced Milestone isos normally only get one timestamp each. ...
Thanks for pointing it out.
Dunno which "it" to which you refer, but :-) -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." Proverbs 16:21 (New Living Translation) Team OS/2 ** Reg. He didn't provide any string but it was implied from the thread subject and content. Person asked for Milestone 0, elaborated his problems and wants and got the reply containing a link and a snarky comment. Assuming everyone reading and posting here knows ins and outs of the project is a bit too much to ask, and a little unreasonable. If opposite isn't stated, implied is close enough.

You took time to explain process (it) of having a Milestone release and all that it entails. I didn't know that so _it_ was new to me:) Or did I snip it out? i checked the sent mail it's there. Kind regards, Jason
