net-tools is just dead meat for Linux; trying to fix it is a lost
cause, because the kernel API is set into stone. This is also why
BSD has more leeway, because changing the system is more relaxed there
as kernel is developed, to some degree, in lockstep.

Basically, we close bug reports about ifconfig truncation as INVALID
since ages, because it is considered obsolete.
