Daniele,
As long as the old computer has an i686-class processor, the Live media will work. I have one old notebook that I use for testing various PCMCIA hardware that is only i586. For it, I need to use the NET install CD.

Uhmm.. sorry, I don't understand what you mean here...
With 256Mb of RAM no live system. So I usually install from live media without booting the live system.
But no more live cd so I can only install from net but: 1) it's slow 2) this time didn't work
Now I've a 12.2 up and running and I'll dup to 12.3 soon..
Daniele.
The wget method is there to avoid booting from CD of USB. It only works if you have a system which boots using GRUB or using kexec. However I tried the kexec method, it boots, but does not present the promised screen from which to choose the language, screen size and the keyboard, after which you can do the installation. Will investigate further, but not now. -- fr.gr. Freek de Kruijf -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
