I think that I read somewhere that the full install of the kernel sources is not necessary any more to compile the NVIDIA driver but I can't find the information how to do it now on the internet.
You need kernel-flavor-devel package, ie kernel-desktop-devel
kernel-default-devel installs the full kernel sources as a dependencie...
So I do have to install them?
Karl
A "kernel" module (nvidia.ko) needs to be built, so the kernel source is required and configured with "make cloneconfig && make prepare", then "sh NV*.run". This has to be done in runlevel 3, i.e X not running. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ...
