What's happened to the issue with the intel network cards, are they still dissabled?

Expect a note on that in the release announcement. They won't be disabled, IIUC. Does this mean in December or the beta2 release? I put my new computer on hold since its motherboard uses the Intel chip set and the e1000e driver.
