[opensuse-factory] Status openSUSE distribution
Hi everyone, it's a short week in Germany (public holiday tomorrow), and we are still working on creating a first installable build of openSUSE 11.1 Beta2. Currently, we are looking into a cyclic dependency between some packages. If you want to follow that discussion, please check https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=431340 Yesterday, we were stuck because of build loops in the java stack, which have been workarounded in the meantime. Anyways, I'm still positive about a release tonight or tomorrow morning. Best, Christoph -- Christoph Thiel, Tech. What's happened to the issue with the intel network cards, are they still dissabled? - -- Cheers, Carlos E. Expect a note on that in the release announcement. They won't be disabled, IIUC. Best, Christoph -- Christoph Thiel, Tech. Expect a note on that in the release announcement. They won't be disabled, IIUC. Does this mean in December or the beta2 release? I put my new computer on hold since its motherboard uses the Intel chip set and the e1000e driver.
Best, Christoph

Christoph is speaking about the Beta2 announcement. In December the e1000e issue should be history ;), Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger, Director Platform / openSUSE, aj@suse.de SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126

Andreas Thanks, I just saw an announcement that the Beta 2 release has patches to hopefully solve problem. Looks like I can go ahead with my new processor since 11.0 is my production version. -- Russ Linux register user 441463

Update on the release status: We have the final ISOs, LiveCDs are currently building, but will end up being LiveDVDs, because of their size ;) Public release is now scheduled for tomorrow (Friday, Oct 3rd), 12:00/noon German time. Great! Downloading DVD takes too much time for me (512kbps) so LiveCD is perfect for me to test and find bugs :) . -- Jakub 'Livio' Rusinek http://liviopl.jogger.pl/
