The devs need the kick, not the users. They spent too much time making bling and not enough time porting over the core system. Forcing the users to accept the new system is what M$ does, not what the FOSS community does.
No, the FOSS community does whatever the developers want to do. If they want to just write "bling", then that's exactly what they can and will do, and you and anyone else can have absolutly no say over it at all. If you don't like it, start sending patches, the process is very easy to get involved with. Ranting on this list isn't going to help it any. thanks, greg k-h p.s.
