Why do you think that zmd is not doing anything? You can't know this because zmd does its work invisibly. You are, again, confusing zmd, zen-updater and rug which each other. These are three different programs: zen-uodater is the visible one, zmd is the invisible one and rug is another one. Just uninstall zmd, rug and zen-updater and be happy. Everything else in this discussion is already known and we really don't need to explain the Zenworks architecture yet again from the beginning.
