http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1047921 Bug ID: 1047921 Summary: Move fping to /usr/bin Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Network Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: opensuse@the-systems-commonwealth.net QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- fping which is a ping command aimed at scripting, is installed to /usr/sbin/. This means it needs root permissions to run. Given that it's use case is in scripting, it is likely that non root users will need to execute it. My suggestion is to install fping into /usr/bin alongside the ping command. As a work-around, I have to run sudo chmod 4755 /usr/sbin/fping whenever an update resets the permissions. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
