Still exists on SLE12 SP3 beta3. Reassigning to Bruce to investigate fixing
this in the qemu package as RH did in
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1342999#c15

A workaround is to delete the guest VM and create a new guest VM using
existing disk image.

A simpler workaround is to simply remove the cache attribute from the CDROM
config, e.g.

<disk type='block' device='cdrom'>
- <driver name='qemu' type='raw' cache='none'/>
+ <driver name='qemu' type='raw'/>
<target dev='hdb' bus='ide'/>
<readonly/>
</disk>

With the above change, VM boots fine for me.
