E.g. virt-manager could be changed to not add a 'cache=' attribute to cdrom devices. We might as well wait for a few days and see if there is a resolution acceptable to the relevant upstream communities. In the meantime, 'virsh edit domname' can be used to remove the 'cache=' attribute from empty cdrom devices. A workaround is to delete the guest VM and create a new guest VM using existing disk image.

A simpler workaround is to simply remove the cache attribute from the CDROM config, e.g. <disk type='block' device='cdrom'> - <driver name='qemu' type='raw' cache='none'/> + <driver name='qemu' type='raw'/> <target dev='hdb' bus='ide'/> <readonly/> </disk> With the above change, VM boots fine for me. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
