http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=979566 Bug ID: 979566 Summary: uxterm complains about missing fonts and refuses to display UTF8 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: x86-64 OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org Assignee: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: j_k_v@ro.ru QA Contact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Package: xterm Version: 324-1.2 In Gnome, when starting user@host:~> [1] 7169 user@host:~> xterm: cannot load font '-misc-fixed-medium-r-normal-*-18-120-100-100-c-90-iso10646-1' we get a new uxterm window in which UTF-8 characters are not displayed; we see blank spaces instead. One can press Ctrl+RightMouse and choose TrueType, after which we start seeing UTF-8 chars. But this is nonautomatic and changes the font size and the window size. Where do I get '-misc-fixed-medium-r-normal-*-18-120-100-100-c-90-iso10646-1' from in Tumbleweed and how can I make uxterm use it?
