O.K. I had time to do a few things on that.
Provided the situation is still: tumbleweed on the machine does print, leap
does not print (but sees the printer and sets it up on demand.
I haven't yet had the time to gather the files etc. but:
I did do a zypper dup to restore as much as possible a "virgin" system. So that
did not change the problem.
I then did erase the printer configuration. I changed usb port. I set up a new
configuration. There is one new point I observed before, but I wanted to be
dead sure before mentioning it:
when you set up the printer with the default name proposed, you are able to
print the testpage.
But...if you change the name to "your name" in my case: salvadordali (is the
name of the printer) the testpage, - all other settings, driver etc being equal
- the test page cannot be printed any more. There is then a full loss of
functionality. By accepting the default, it prints with the testpages, but it
does not(!) print e.g. via libreoffice.
Now when I have a moment you will get more info.
