(Josef, signal 2 is not a crash ;-))
IIUC, the problem is both with the YaST control center and the individual
modules.
I can reproduce it, and it also happens with a trivial Qt5 test program*, as a
non-root user.

Max, can you please take a look?
The program is running, but no window appears. Other X programs (xclock) do
work.
It does work when I ssh from a 13.1 machine.
FWIW, in February we had a bug with the same symptoms which turned out to be
caused by IceWM discarding the window:
