http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=903557 Bug ID: 903557 Summary: yast2 cannot be started using ssh connection Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: 13.2 RC 1 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 Assignee: yast2-maintainers@suse.de Reporter: wolfgang@rosenauer.org QA Contact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- I use local ssh connections a lot to gain a root terminal. Since I installed 13.2 I cannot start yast2 anymore in such a local ssh root terminal. Apparently just nothing happens. No window appears but a yast process is visible in process list. Other X applications work just fine. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

--- Comment #7 from Hrvoje Senjan
FWIW, in February we had a bug with the same symptoms which turned out to be caused by IceWM discarding the window: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=863345
it would be really great if you could point us what did happen there? as the report is not public -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

@Wolfgang i can provide binaries with a lot more debug statements turned on, if you're willing to test them?
Actually I could and would do that but are you telling me that cannot be easily reproduced for everyone? Martin writes in comment 4 that it's easy to reproduce for him and also with a simple Qt application. The only thing missing in my report is that I'm usually using WindowMaker as WM. I don't think I have tried with KDE or Gnome yet (cannot check at this moment). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
