ok. i think i found out what the problem is. using the DVD download from
opensuse website, and applying mdadm-3.3-126.1.x86_64.rpm at first opportunity
after install solves the problem. i am able to failed drives, rebuild, and
after resynch reboot and not have a forced synch again. my apologies for
opening this bug report up. It turn out the distribution DVD I was originally
using is what is causing the problems. when i use that DVD the problem is
there. It seems like it is not shutting down the system properly causing / to
be marked dirty on the reboot/shutdown process. Again my apologies.
