Hello,
13.1-final on i586 via Update
On my on a Pentium 4 system.(2.66 GHz and1,5 GB memory) I had 2 sets of
/ and /home partions.
One set is used to test systems eg All my comments in this problem note are
experienced in this test set.
The other set contained my openSUSE 12.3/kde system with a normal working
wireless internet connection with preceisely the same wireless hardware
-00:07.0 Ethernet Controller RealtekSemiConductor Co Ltd RTL-8185 IEEE 802.11
a/b/g Wireless Lan Controller (rev 20)
With the openSUSE 13.1-KDE DVD-i586.iso I updated this system to openSUSE 13.1
and the wireless network still works normal, however still as wlan0.
Unfortunately the system has migrated bug 818987 from 12.3 to 13.1 while in the
new installed 13.1 that bug was solved.
Do you need some info from this Updated openSUSE 12.3 system to help solve the
problem.??
Regards, Frans
PS Note for Sean Ericson (from comment 28)
Without the openSUSE 13.1 DVD in the drive I could start the system in mode
3 and log-in as root. I executed the commands modprobe -r rtl8180 and
modprobe rtl8180 and logout with shutdown -h now command. After that I could
log in to the system as normal user. Does that help you?
