https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=850779 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=850779#c0 Summary: Missing USB ID for Ericsson H5321gw prevents use of 3G modem Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 13.1 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: tsuroerusu@gmail.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- The Ericsson H5321gw 3G modem has a USB ID of 1926, which is not prevent in ModemManager's database in openSUSE 13.1, and thus I cannot use the 3G modem in my ThinkPad X230. Other folks on the web seem to have the same issues on other distributions. An identical bug report can be found here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/modemmanager/+bug/1057956 There is also a patch to add the revision, I tried applying it manually to the udev rules, although NetworkManager still greys out the "Mobile Broadband" tab for whatever reason. In any case, this modem is likely present in many other laptops, I would hope a patch for this could be issued ASAP, as it could well be an unpleasant surprise for people on the road. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
