Hi Andreas,
I did the following actions :
1) Downloaded the glibc package from the indicated repo and installed them
2) Removed the nscd package and replaced it with the unscd package.
This would restore the old situation where I had the Chromium crashes.
3) Performed a system reboot
4) After the reboot, nscd (from unscd) is not running.
5) Started Chromium from a konsole.
Step 5 was performed a couple of times to see if there are different results,
but so far it seems that Chromium starts normally without any segfault. The
output from the konsole is:
hq000006@HQVMT4XX20:~> chromium
hq000006@HQVMT4XX20:~> chromium
hq000006@HQVMT4XX20:~> chromium
hq000006@HQVMT4XX20:~> chromium
hq000006@HQVMT4XX20:~> ps -ef | grep nscd
hq000006 3994 3323 0 10:10 pts/2 00:00:00 grep --color=auto nscd
hq000006@HQVMT4XX20:~>
As you can see nscd is still not running, but Chromium is working fine. Seems
that the identified patch indeed caused the issue.
