kernel-default-2.6.34.7-0.7.1: works, the notebook powers off. kernel-desktop-2.6.34.7-0.7.1: see bug report. This is interesting. That would mean the bug is rather old (2.6.34 or older) and depends on the kernel config.
Can you make sure preloadtrace kernel driver is not loaded. Best blacklist it here: /etc/modprobe.d/99-local.conf by adding the line: blacklist preloadtrace You can double check with lsmod |grep preloadtrace whether it was loaded before (and thus could be the issue) and whether it does not get loaded anymore after a reboot. If it still gets loaded, run mkinitrd after blacklisting (I couldn't quickly find where preloadtrace gets loaded). This driver is known to make weird (memory) problems on some machines and should only show up on -desktop flavors by default. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
