and this is the section from my /boot/grub/menu.lst

title Bootchart Desktop -- openSUSE 11.2 - 2.6.31.12-0.2
root (hd1,1)
kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.31.12-0.2-desktop
root=/dev/disk/by-id/scsi-SATA_SAMSUNG_HD300LDS0A4J1LP304125-part3
resume=/dev/disk/by-id/ata-SAMSUNG_HD300LD_S0A4J1LP304125-part1 splash=silent
showopts vga=0x346 initcall_debug printk.time=y quiet init=/sbin/bootchartd
initrd /initrd-2.6.31.12-0.2-desktop

its a clone of my normal boot entry with the "initcall_debug printk.time=y
quiet init=/sbin/bootchartd" appended to the kernel line.

What I don't get is why /sbin/bootchartd is started even when I don't boot that
entry?
