[Bug 593646] New: bootchart2 fills /dev even if it was not used
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=593646 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=593646#c0 Summary: bootchart2 fills /dev even if it was not used Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: ensonic@sonicpulse.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; de; rv:1.9.1.8) Gecko/20100204 SUSE/3.5.8-0.1.1 Firefox/3.5.8 I am using bootchart2 (bootchart2-0.0.7-1.1.i586) according to the README in http://github.com/mmeeks/bootchart/blob/master/README That is I cloned my normal Desktop grub/menu.lst entry and added the extra boot option to the cloned entry. Unfortunately even if I don't use that entry, something called bootchart-collector runs and if it runs long enough eats all space in /dev (/dev/.bootchart). and this is the section from my /boot/grub/menu.lst title Bootchart Desktop -- openSUSE 11.2 - 2.6.31.12-0.2 root (hd1,1) kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.31.12-0.2-desktop root=/dev/disk/by-id/scsi-SATA_SAMSUNG_HD300LDS0A4J1LP304125-part3 resume=/dev/disk/by-id/ata-SAMSUNG_HD300LD_S0A4J1LP304125-part1 splash=silent showopts vga=0x346 initcall_debug printk.time=y quiet init=/sbin/bootchartd initrd /initrd-2.6.31.12-0.2-desktop its a clone of my normal boot entry with the "initcall_debug printk.time=y quiet init=/sbin/bootchartd" appended to the kernel line. What I don't get is why /sbin/bootchartd is started even when I don't boot that entry? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
