Sorry, I was in mistake with my last comment. I retried this now on a x86
instead od x86_64 system (because of a hint that this might happen only on 64
bit platforms). The problem happens even here, and there IS an output on the
console:
*** nss-shared-helper: Shared database disabled (set NSS_USE_SHARED_DB to
enable).
Gdk-ERROR **: The program 'firefox' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAccess (attempt to access private resource denied)'.
(Details: serial 23944 error_code 10 request_code 2 minor_code 0)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
aborting...
/usr/bin/firefox: line 128: 23259 Trace/breakpoint trap $MOZ_PROGRAM "$@"
Do you still assume this is an acroread problem?
