OK, I have the new alsa-driver-kmp:
rpm -qa | grep alsa
alsa-plugins-pulse-1.0.20.git20090718-2.2
alsa-utils-1.0.20.git20090620-2.1
alsa-oss-32bit-1.0.17-1.37
alsa-tools-1.0.20.git20090702-2.1
alsa-1.0.20.git20090718-2.1
alsa-oss-1.0.17.git20080715-2.1
alsa-docs-1.0.20-36.1
alsa-firmware-1.0.20.git20090507-3.1
alsa-driver-kmp-default-1.0.20.20090725_2.6.27.25_0.1-1.1
alsa-plugins-1.0.20.git20090718-2.2
I did the test both with and without headphones and tried it as root. Should I
use pasuspender by first running: pasuspender aplay and then the rest of the
command or just everything in one line? If I run it in one line I get an error
saying that -D is not recognized. Anyway I just killed pulseaudio running:
killall pulseaudio
as root
and then I did the test. When I run the aplay command I can then see that
the file is playing (see the attached screenshot for aplay output) but I can't
hear a thing and the sound is on 100% both in alsamixer and kmix.
I then edited the /modprobe.d/sound file, restarted alsa and did everything
again. Here is how my current sound file looks like after adding
,model=dell-m6:
options snd slots=snd-hda-intel,snd-hda-intel,model=dell-m6
# u1Nb.hoA7T2ofYz2:82801I (ICH9 Family) HD Audio Controller
alias snd-card-1 snd-hda-intel
# NXNs.tQ+HzCBX1_7:RV730XT Audio device [Radeon HD 4670]
alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
Thanks for helping
