--- Comment #9 from Rudolf Zolotov 2009-06-05 02:18:53 MDT ---
I am unable to reproduce this on openSUSE 11.1 32bit, so this is either 64bit
problem, or I am missing something. I have done this steps:
1. Started DOSBox from KDE menu (running KDE 4.2.88 from K:K4:F:D, maybe this
is a bug on openSUSE default KDE and was fixed)
2. Executed 'ls -l /proc/`pidof dosbox`/cwd' in Konsole terminal, as in comment
#2. This command printed 'lrwxrwxrwx 1 eek users 0 Июн 5 11:47 /proc/8050/cwd
-> /home/eek/Documents/'. '/home/eek/Documents/' is a DOSBox working directory.
3. Executed 'cd /home/eek/Documents/' in terminal. Checked, that there is no
'abc.cfg' file there.
4. In DOSBox typed 'config -writeconf abc.cfg'. There was no output.
5. Typed 'ls abc.cfg' in terminal. 'abc.cfg' was there with DOSBox config
inside.
I tested several times, and working directory of DOSBox was allways
'/home/eek/Documents/' when started from main menu or krunner (alt+F2) or
current directory, when started from terminal. Configuration file was allways
created there. Btw, DOSBox complains, when it can not write file (for example,
if it was started in '/usr' by normal user) with message 'Can't open file
abc.cfg'.
Please check comment #2 and find out, what working directory your DOSBox use.
Then check, if your config file is there.
I googled a bit and found one post [1] on DOSBox forum with same problem
description. But topic starter there is not using 'find' command right. There
is no extensions in Linux, so searching with mask 'aa*.*' will find files with
name starting with 'aa' and containing dot somewhere. Since file 'aaa' does not
have any dots in it's name, it can not be found.
