An update from my side: I started wpa_supplicant manually and then wpa_gui, and
this was able to connect after one or two failed group handshakes. This
requires some manual interventions, first of all the wpa_supplicant started by
dbus must disappear. Then I start
wpa_supplicant -c/etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf -Dwext -iwlan0 -d &
This alone is not able to connect (it should). Starting
wpa_gui -iwlan0
opens the WPA GUI. Now this is able to connect (though it still can take quit
some time until the GROUP_HANDSHAKE succeeds; this is not really reliable), and
the remaining thing to do is to start
dhcpcd wlan0
to get IP, DNS resolver and route. And maybe restart the avahi daemon... Well,
it gives warm feelings about the good old days where real admins had to type in
really complicated command lines to get a network connection up and running...
I wonder what wpa_supplicant is doing wrong on the group handshake. I have no
sniffer, either, to see what's really going on.
