YaST log
This attachment contains yast logs in /var/log/YaST2/
------- Comment From vinaysridhar@in.ibm.com 2008-07-28 07:46 EDT-------
This is the alpha-1 version tried on a p550 machine

Novell,
In y2logs-1, we see the messages :
Loading module 'Register' failed
Import.cc(import):97 No matching component found
packager/repositories_include.ycp:24 Can't load module 'Register'
Is "Register.ycp" part of yast2-registration-2.16.7-18.noarch.rpm?
Is yast looking up the right package?
------- Comment From vinaysridhar@in.ibm.com 2008-07-31 06:40 EDT-------
Novell,
Any information you can share on this issue?
Moving to yast2 developers.
packager/repositories_include.ycp:24 Can't load module 'Register'.
packager/repositories_include.ycp:312 Unknown namespace 'Register'. Missing
'import'?
rpm -qf /usr/share/YaST2/modules/Register.ycp
yast2-registration-2.16.7-14
In my opinion, packager should not need registration at all... (and already
reported). Inst-sys probably doesn't contain yast2-registration.
------- Comment From vinaysridhar@in.ibm.com 2008-08-05 04:56 EDT-------
Novell,
So is the "Register" module not needed by packager for a successful
installation?
Is there a fix for this?
Thanks,
Vinay

Yes, it is part of yast2-registration, but this is not part of the installation
system.

No, it is not needed for an installation at all. Only for getting an update
source which is the result of the registration process.

I agree, and for Code11 it even can live without an import of the registration,
as zypp will get a function to setup the update source for the current product.
Please contact Duncan for details.
