The nvidia driver was installed with YaST from the official NVIDIA SUSE repository. Symptoms of problems: - Occasional freeze of screen (includig loss of connection to keyboard) during kdm display manager start at boot up (very rare) - When starting a 3D application such as one of the OpenGL screen savers of KDE or the game ppracer from the distribution (attached files are from the latter case) the program runs for a few seconds as expected - then all screen movement stops for a while (sometimes sound stops then as well) - runs again for a short time stops again - and so on.
