the benefit is that you don't have to have a blown up system with huge X server
and dozends of other libraries that the X server depends on just because you
want a system where you can to start an x11 application remotely.
If you have xauth in a separate pacakge you can start x11 applications with
just xorg-x11-libs and xauth installed.
It's not a bit deal that xauth has to be manually selected. The manual
selection could be prevented by an RPM requires on xauth in the xorg-x11-libs
package though but I don't like that idea too much. The xorg-x11 (server)
package should of course require xauth via RPM.
