https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=344132 Summary: Kernel panic with kernel 2.6.22.12-0.1 -586 and sony_laptop module Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: trenn@novell.com ReportedBy: r.schuh@web.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- After online update to kernel 2.6.22.12-0.1 -586 the following message appears during boot: EIP (<f0a60f35>) sony_pic_irq+0xfa/0x15a (sony_laptop) SS:ESP 0068:efc85ea0 Kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal exception in interupt The only way to start the laptop again was with Failsafe or to go back to the original kernel from the dvd. Another possibility is to put the Sony_laptop module on the Blacklist. But if the Sony_laptop module is not loaded the Fn and with this the adjustment of the brightness of the LCD does not work any longer. Also the jogdial does not work. So this is not the solution. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
